It was really fun to paint! But if I could start it over, I would start painting the smaller pieces first. I would also remove the extra details from the background before submitting the photo so they wouldn't be as accentuated as our faces.

Unfortunately my order cut off important pieces of the image I needed to gift as a paint by number. The company was gracious about a refund without any issues but be careful if your image contains any words/parts that could be cut off at the edges. A proof of the final going to print would be so helpful.

It really does look amazing when you take it out of the box. The detail is incredible. However, I looked for the instructions and there are none. That was a little disappointing. Each paint bottle has multiple numbers on it which makes for a little confusion. I also don’t know how to clean my brushes. Are these oil based or water based paints? It would be nice to have some instructions to help get started. I can’t really give my review yet because I haven’t got started yet. I’m still trying to figure out how to clean brushes and possible mistakes on the canvas.

My daughter found this site after losing our 12 year old dog, Baxter. She is 13 and only knew life with him in it. We sent in a pic of her and Baxter and she has been painting a little bit everyday. These are my second set of canvas’ I’ve purchased for family members. The first set was for Mother’s Day and my mother and grandmother loved them! My recent purchase was for my mother and aunt, we sadly lost my grandfather two months ago and these were given to both of them to remember the happiest days with him and to always know they never walk alone. This was amazing! I really enjoyed the experience and plan on doing this again many times. Although it was bit complicated, the result was incredibly satisfying.
The kit was of very high quality. Not only did I get the canvas, but I also got a full-size, detailed black-and-white print on paper that guided me through a missed transition or two. The frame was also an especially nice touch. I framed it before painting and this helped a great deal, I believe.
The paints were also very good and consistent, though I did have to learn how to keep them properly diluted. Just part of learning how to do it, though. I must have made a thousand mistakes but learned from each one.
My only (very minor) negative note was the brushes: they were of low quality, and probably could have been left out of the kit, but I had no problem getting a couple of high-quality brushes at a local craft store. By the way, I did the whole thing with just two brushes, though I did wear them out!
That's what made this such an amazing process. The quality of the product made for an incredible experience. I definitely recommend it.
On a personal note, the customer service was first rate. In a time when many companies do not give you the time of day, the staff at Painted Memory was attentive and helpful when I made inquiries.

Overall the painting is amazing. There are some spaces with no numbers so I had to guess on colors for those spaces. I do love my painting by I suggest putting a magnifying glass in each kit to help with identifying very small numbers. :)

I’ve bought 3 kits so far and love them. The experience of painting them is relaxing, I throw on a movie or a show and paint for a few hours a night. ordered a family photo for mother’s day. it turned out well, probably would have had more details of our faces if i ordered larger than an 8 by 10 but i think it still captured all of us and is recognizable to the original photo. i put it in my own picture frame without glass in it so the texture can be more easily seen

Its not for the amateur artist!! I had to paint it completely opposite of how i painted any previous painting. I had to start with the little details, and watch those lines, cause numbers disappear! Pay attention as you paint, its easy to lose track of where you are painting!
The paint brushes they give you with kit, suck! And i used the tiny one the most!

We had to take a picture of some of the numbers in the small spaces then zoom in on the picture to see what they were. But fun project. I love the products and the finished painting. My only complaint is the length of time from the order date until the date of arrival, generally 3 -4 weeks. I paid for express shipment on my last order, however, it didn't seem to make any difference

I love the quality of the paint. The only downside is that if your picture has any shading, highlights, the colour does not come out like on the actual picture. Ex: my cat's perle necklace is a brown/beige tone because of the shade in the picture.
I bought a painting 42 colours. I find it makes it look more realistic (when you look at it from further away). For my first purchase, there was a discount/ sale going on. I paid around 50-60$ (can) including shipping. I offered this to my boyfriend for his birthday, he lost his cat a few months ago... I find it makes good and original gifts if you're sick of giving out gift cards ;)
